本周我们学习和综合素质相关的词汇

1. civilized /ˈsɪvəˌlaɪzd/

adj.有礼貌的;举止得体的

e.g. Please behave like a civilized person and stop yelling in public.

e.g. They had a civilized discussion despite their opposing views.

反义：uncivilized 无教养的；不文明的

e.g. It’s uncivilized to cut in line like that.

e.g. Spitting on the street is considered uncivilized behavior.

2. holistic /həʊˈlɪstɪk/

adj. 整体的；全盘的

搭配：holistic education 综合素质教育

holistic development 全面发展

e.g. The school focuses on the holistic development of students, not just academics.

e.g. The school emphasizes holistic education, focusing on academic, emotional, and physical development.

近义词：well-rounded 全面发展的

e.g. The school provides a well-rounded curriculum that fosters creativity and critical thinking.

e.g. She is a well-rounded student who excels in both academics and sports.

3. intelligent /ɪn'telɪdʒ(ə)nt/

adj. 有才智的；悟性强的

e.g. People who are highly intelligent are not always good team workers.

e.g. He was a well-educated and intelligent man with a sharp sense of humor.

intelligence n. [不可数名词]智力;智能；

搭配：a person of normal/ high/ low intelligence

e.g. She has exceptional intelligence and learns things very quickly.

e.g. The forms should be able to be understood by a person of average intelligence.

搭配：emotional intelligence 情商

e.g. Emotional intelligence is just as important as IQ in the workplace.

e.g. People with high emotional intelligence tend to handle stress better.

4. competence /'kɒmpɪt(ə)ns/

n.能力;才干

e.g. The courses will improve the skills and professional competence of the staff.

e.g. There are many careers that require a high degree of linguistic competence.

competent adj. 有能力的

搭配：be competent + in / at + 在某方面有能力

be competent to do something 有能力做某事

e.g. She is competent to lead the team.

e.g. She is competent at using Excel and other software tools.
